3300 South Corridor Study
The 3300 South Corridor Study is a transportation study that focuses on the pedestrian and cyclist experience along roughly five and a half miles of road through Millcreek City and South Salt Lake. Ranging from five to seven lanes of traffic and including both residential and commercial land uses, the study identifies ways to make the corridor safer, multi-modal, and welcoming. MHTN’s role as a sub-consultant was to identify how the space between the back of street curb to building facade could include site elements that supported a strong sense of place and created a more inviting experience for pedestrians.
Themed site furnishings, art installations, seating, pedestrian lighting, and wayfinding were all incorporated in the final design recommendations as elements to improve the placemaking and streetscape environment along the corridor.

CREATING COMFORT ALONG A BUSY STREET CORRIDOR
Stretches of 3300 South can have up to 50K cars per day, making the street noisy and congested. This plan identifies strategies such as landscaped buffers, wider sidewalks, a multi-use path, and street furnishings to make the streetscape experience more enjoyable.
