Lindon Parks, Trails, and Recreation Master Plan
The MHTN Planning Team worked with Lindon City to update their 2008 Parks, Trails, & Recreation Master Plan. Serving as a decision-making tool, the master plan will help Lindon realize its goals and objectives. This includes providing direction for effective, equitable planning and future development of parks, recreation, and trails. MHTN participated in the City’s planned events to gather community feedback and to “meet people where they are.” Utilizing GIS analysis and mapping, our team’s final recommendations built upon a clear vision and the guiding principles that were established.
The master plan update required a fresh look of the park level of service and deficiencies. Existing strengths were leveraged upward, and deficiencies were enhanced and improved. It also provides a new Impact Fee Facilities Plan that allows the City Council flexibility in increasing or decreasing the development impact fees, if desired.

ENHANCING THE PARK SYSTEM
Finding areas for new parks was a challenge as Lindon City continues to develop. With GIS data and analysis, our team had numerous conversations with the City. New spaces were proposed and existing parks were considered for amenity upgrades.
