Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School

Grand County School District’s new Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School replaces an outdated and aging middle school located on the same site. Construction took place in a single phase, allowing the school to continue to operate, helping to diminish the impact on students and to reduce construction costs. The new learning environment will fully support next generation learning and student engagement with its flexible and adaptable design. The exterior is designed to complement the natural splendor of Moab and surrounding landscape. Thoughtful use of natural sandstone, masonry, stucco (reflecting adobe), and corten metal are used to create a massing and aesthetic that celebrates the mesas, fins, colors, and textures of the region.
